EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOX) –  50-year-old Brenda Mason of Centreville faces up to three years in prison after pleading guilty Monday to filing a false income tax return in 2008.

As part of her plea, Mason also admitted that she assisted family members in obtaining false W-2 forms so that they could also file false returns and receive tax refunds.

Mason faces up to three years in prison and a $250,000 fine when she’s sentenced in East St. Louis in June.
