ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Coca-Cola executives are downplaying the removal of some cans of their product from St. Louis store shelves because they reportedly tasted “off”.
“Most people wouldn’t even notice it,” says Kevin Morris, a spokesman for Coca-Cola in St. Louis. “But we frankly are committed to having the highest-quality standards.”
Morris would not provide numbers on how many cans of Coca-Cola products were affected.
Nor could he tell KMOX News how many stores had those products removed from their shelves, saying only that it was “very limited” and did not amount to a recall.
He did stress, however, that there is no health threat and that Coke products currently on sale in St. Louis are perfectly safe.
Morris says the cans were removed based on complaints from “a few consumers”.
