ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The tornado sirens will sound at 1:30 P.M. Thursday.

It’s the drill they put off because of stormy weather, but officials hope that you also take the day to review all your emergency plans.

Crestwood Deputy Police Chief Frank Arnoldy says many are not prepared.  Studies by the American Red Cross and by FOCUS St. Louis show less that half of residents  are prepared when disaster strikes.

He says don’t depend on outside help right away. Have enough supplies to get you  and your family through  three to four days.

You’ll need things like water, food, prescription meds and a battery radio.

This is also Missouri Severe Weather Awareness Week.
