ST. LOUIS (KMOX)-Denver Broncos Running Back Laurence Maroney and four others now face charges in connection with an incident that happened outside Chaifetz Arena in January.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s office has charged Maroney, Glenn Gant, Michael Brown, Lavel May and Royce Spann with one count each of possessing under 35 grams of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
The five were arrested January 17th, after officers smelled marijuana coming from the two cars they were driving around the arena before a concert.
Weapons were also found in Maroney’s vehicle, but he does have a conceal carry permit, and prosecutors say no Missouri gun laws were violated. If convicted, the five each face up to one year in prison, and a $1,000 fine or probation.
Maroney is a product of Normandy High School. He was drafted 21st overall by the New England Patriots in 2006.
