WASHINGTON D.C.(KMOX)–A political action committee wants Congressman Todd Akin to enter the senate race against Senator Claire McCaskill. Citizens United is donating $10,000 to Akin.  In a statement to Politico, the group says, “Akin would be a formidable candidate in the race to quote, “ground air Claire.”

Congressman Todd Akin says it is very gratifying and humbling to be recognized in such a fashion for years of of conservative representation of the second District.  In a statement emailed to KMOX, Akin wrote, “As with encouragement from other groups and constituents I am thankful that that my 97 percent approval from the American Conservative Union is being recognized and I will continue to take such encouragement under advisement as I considers the challenge to take back the Senate in  2012.”
