Rep. Carnahan Quiet on F-bomb, Redistricting
CLAYTON (KMOX) – Forget you or screw you are a couple sanitized versions of what Congressman Russ Carnahan allegedly said to his colleague, Lacy Clay, on the floor of the House of Representatives.
Carnahan’s district is likely eliminated, and Politico.com reports that Clay got the “F-bomb” after declining to extend a helping hand for his fellow Democrat.
KMOX caught up with Carnahan in Clayton on Wednesday, where he said he’s staying on the sidelines — for now.
“It’s in the process. I’m not going to get into that today,” he said.
Carnahan added that he thinks maps in both the Missouri House and Senate are unfair and that he wouldn’t be surprised to see the courts having to hash things out. In the past, Carnahan has expressed disappointment with the erasing of his seat, and the consolidating of St. Louis City into one district.
He said he’ll have plenty to talk about once the two chambers agree and are able to send a final redistricting map to the Governor.
