UNDATED (AP) — Temple’s softball team is back home safe after a frightening few hours in the St. Louis airport during the tornado that ripped through the city.

The Owls were evacuated downstairs to a baggage area Friday night when the storm hit. They were in a different terminal from the one where the tornado tore off part of the roof.

The 23 people in the group took a bus ride of about 15 hours overnight to arrive back in Philadelphia on Sunday morning, in time for Easter.

Temple had swept a pair of conference games against Saint Louis University on Thursday and Friday.
