Ameren Missouri Ordered to Provide $17M Refund

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Electricity customers of Ameren Missouri will be getting a $17 million refund.

The Missouri Public Service Commission ordered the refund after determining that revenues from Ameren’s sale of electricity to two entities should have resulted in a reduction in charges to regular Ameren customers.

Ameren Missouri customers won’t be getting a check. Instead, the refund will be used to offset future fuel costs that otherwise would be charged to customers.

The PSC approved the refund by a 3-2 vote.
