Arrest Made in Elderly Woman’s Death

WINFIELD, MO. (KMOX) – The Major Case Squad has arrested a suspect in the murder of an elderly Lincoln County woman.

Charged with Second Degree Murder is William Galvin.   He lived in the same trailer home as murder victim Bonnie Brown,  along with Brown’s daughter who is said to be Galvin’s girlfriend.

Investigators say it was Galvin who dialed 9-1-1 to report the murder of Brown and an alleged burglary.

When police arrived there were signs of forced entry and it appeared someone had broken into the home on Sweet Street near Winfield, but they say Galvin was the only suspect.  He’s jailed on $250,000 bond.

77 year old Bonnie Brown had been strangled.
