ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) - The new golden voice of an iconic game show is St. Louis-bred.

George Gray is the new announcer for “The Price is Right,” the classic game show popularized by host Bob Barker, who was recently replaced with comic Drew Carey.

“It’s fun,” Gray says. “It’s ridiculously fun. I’ve done a lot of shows … and I’m having a blast.”

Gray grew up in Ballwin before moving with his family to Arizona. He says his background as a stand-up comic helps him join Carey to warm up the crowd before shows.

Gray is only the fourth announcer in the current version of the show, which has a history of nearly forty years.

  • St. Louis native George Gray is now the permanent announcer for the game show “The Price Is Right.” He is in St. Louis and visits with Mark in studio.
