ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. (KMOX) - A man who led police on a high-speed chase is dead after he crashed early this morning.
Illinois State Police say 39-year-old Kendell T. Lewis of O’Fallon Illinois sped away from a traffic stop in Brooklyn, and officers gave pursuit.
Lewis was reportedly driving at speeds of more than 100 mph when he lost control and slammed into a light pole at St. Clair Avenue and North 18th Street.
Lewis was partially ejected when his car overturned and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
