Excessive Heat Warning Posted

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The St. Louis metropolitan area is under an “Excessive Heat Warning” from Sunday afternoon through 7pm Tuesday.

The National Weather Service issues an excessive heat warning when a prolonged period of high heat and humidity is forecasted.

Meteorologists say the heat index could reach 105 degrees Sunday, between 105 and 115 on Monday, and up to 110 degrees on Tuesday.

St. Louis area residents can call 2-1-1 from a landline phone to get information on United Way cooling centers, or 1-800-427-4626 from a cellphone.
