Grant Combats Homelessness for Veterans

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – A grant to the St. Patrick Center in St. Louis will go toward veterans and their families for housing.

The grant of nearly $1 million was announced today by Rep. Wm. Lacy Clay and the Veterans Administration, as part of the VA’s new Supportive Services for Veteran Families program.

The St. Patrick Center plans to help at least 250 veterans and their families with housing-related issues, with the goal being stable, permanent housing.

In order to receive support, the veteran family’s annual income must be at 50% or less than the area’s median income.

The program aims to prevent homelessness among veterans before they find themselves on the street.
