Toddler, Unresponsive While Drunk Aunt was Swimming

ST. CHARLES, MO. (KMOX) – Charges have been filed against the aunt of a toddler who drowned.

35 year old Erin Lottmann is charged with Involuntary Manslaughter in the first degree.

An investigation indicates the 15 month old boy drown even though he was found unresponsive outside the woman’s swimming pool in St. Charles County.

Prosecutor Jack Banas says when the toddler was discovered on a deck by Lottmann’s daughter.

Banas say Lottmann was still in the pool and (in his words) extremely intoxicated when she was told about the unresponsive toddler.

“I believe what is in the probable cause statement by the officer is a statement from her (Lottmann) who said “oh really” said Prosecutor Banas.

The toddler had been dropped off at the Aunt’s home before noon on Monday in the 2900 block of Rockwood Trail Drive.  The toddler was discovered around four that afternoon.
