SEDALIA, Mo. (AP) - Gov. Jay Nixon says safety is the top priority for organizers and emergency officials at the Missouri State Fair.
Nixon spoke Thursday at the fairgrounds, where he said structures are inspected and officials keep a close eye on the
potential for severe weather.
A state collapsed last weekend in high winds at the State Fair in Indiana. Five people were killed and more than four dozen were injured.
The Missouri State Fair continues through this weekend in Sedalia.
