Family Going To Reunion ‘Blessed’ To Survive Crash

SALEM, Ill. (AP) __ A family member says a 47-year-old
Mississippi woman injured in a tour bus crash on her way to a
family reunion in Illinois may be released from a hospital
Ricardo Baker says his mother-in-law, Citikitia (Seh-KEE’-tuh)
Brooks, suffered a fractured rib but is doing well at St. Louis
University Hospital where she was airlifted.
The crash Friday on Interstate 57 near Salem, Ill., sent 36
people to hospitals, most with minor injuries. The Brown family of
Canton, Miss., had rented the tour bus to get to a Chicago-area
Authorities say the bus driver lost control and slammed into a
tree after blowing a tire.
Baker says the rest of the family continued on to the reunion.
He says the family feels “blessed” that everyone survived.
