Praying For Peace On 9-11

Brad Choat

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Condemning hate and spreading peace on the 10th anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist attacks, dozens from a variety of different faiths gathered under the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.

Speakers included Faizal Syed with the Council on American Islamic Relations, “Many Muslims died in the attacks and many first-responders were Muslims themselves, like the firefighters that died that day. So, this is a very unifying moment for us and the community around us.”

Following the prayer session, some attendees went across the river and took part in a 9-11 Day of Service clean-up project in East St. Louis, Illinois.

  1. Jerry Frey says:

Like all Americans, I was shocked, stunned, and horrified by the Islamic attack on New York City, but not surprized. The sight of the jumpers remains the most horrible image I’ve ever seen; it still makes me sad. Jump or burn — give your soul to God.
