Group Seeks State Audit Of Rockwood District

BALLWIN, Mo. (AP) — Some residents in the Rockwood School District in St. Louis County are seeking a state audit of the district, including an examination of the district’s longtime, exclusive relationship with Glenn Construction Co.

The audit specifically would look into the role of Glenn employee Steve Smith, president of the Rockwood School Board.

The group is Rockwood Stakeholders for Real Solutions. It is launching a drive aimed at getting the approximate 5,000 signatures of registered voters in the district needed for an audit to move forward.

School Board Vice President Janet Strate told the Post-Dispatch that independent audits are conducted each year regarding Rockwood’s finances, and those audits have been solid.
