ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The United Way of St. Louis is half way through its fund-rasing campaign, and has already raised more than 50% of this year’s goal.
They realize that’s quite an accomplishment in this current economic climate, and Well Fargo CEO Danny Ludeman, campaign chair, says they owe it all to the generosity of St. Louis-area residents.
“We knew that because these were not ordinary times, because of the impact that the Great Recession’s having, that we couldn’t have an ordinary campaign,” Ludeman tells KMOX News.
This year’s goal is $71 million, and Ludeman points out they’ve now raised more than $42 million.
That’s 59% of the overall goal, compared to 54% raised this time last year.
