NORMAL, Ill. (AP) — Investigators are waiting for toxicology reports as they look into the death of a 45-year-old woman who fell about 200 feet after climbing scaffolding on a dormitory at Illinois State University.
McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling says the woman who fell outside Watterson Towers has been identified as Alexandra Radulescu. Kimmerling says she was last from South Carolina but was living in France and visiting relatives in central Illinois at the time of her death.
A preliminary autopsy shows that Radulescu died Sunday of multiple injuries resulting from a fall from heights.
University officials say the fall happened at dinner time, so some students walking nearby saw the woman climb up and fall off.
ISU is providing counselors for students who need help.
