ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The Greyhound bus driver who stranded one passenger in Sikeston, Missouri and later abandoned the rest of the passengers near Charleston, has been placed on leave pending an investigation into the incident.
A company spokeswoman said it’s not yet known how long the investigation will take or what actions will be taken when it concludes. It’s also not known if the employee is on paid or unpaid leave.
The spokeswoman said passengers of the abandoned bus have begun to come forth to collect their refunds. Those with proof of travel can pick up their refund at the Greyhound station or call (513) 362-4546.

ST. LOUIS (AP/KMOX) - Greyhound is promising refunds for passengers who had to endure a grueling bus trip from Memphis to St. Louis last Friday.
It took two drivers and more than twelve hours to complete that journey.
Here’s why, according to bus company officials:
The bus was on a normal run from Memphis on I-55 when the driver stopped near Sikeston to order off an unruly passenger, over the objections of some of the other riders on the bus.
She then drove to Cape Girardeau where she got off the bus and “waited for someone to pick her up”, according to Greyhound.
But when she reached the Charleston area, the driver once again pulled over and took off.
Finally, a replacement driver arrived and got passengers to St. Louis early Saturday.
Greyhound has apologized and promised refunds — they’ll also meet with the driver this morning and promise she’ll face some harsh discipline for her actions.
