First Mo. Highway Death of 2012

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) – Less than three hours into the new year, the Missouri Highway Patrol had its first traffic death of 2012.

Troopers say it happened in Boone County, in the central part of the state.

Nineteen-year-old Kameron Gwin of Columbia died when his car left Route Z and hit a tree.

An 18-year-old passenger in Gwin’s car suffered major injuries. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
