MoDOT: Have A Safe Super Bowl Sunday

Brad Choat

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMOX) – The Department of Transportation says there were 213 crashes on Super Bowl Sunday, last year in Missouri.

Three people died and 62 were injured.

MoDOT says 22 of the crashes involved drunk drivers, and one of those involved a death.

The agency is asking people who plan to drink alcohol at a Super Bowl Party to plan ahead and arrange for a safe ride home.

MoDOT also has the “Show Me My Buzz” application for smartphones.

It has information on how alcohol affects a person’s ability to drive, and even provides phone numbers for cab companies in some areas.

MoDOT says it’s available in the Apple app store and the Android Market.
