WILDWOOD, Mo. (KMOX)-The St. Louis area’s Ski Resort is about to get a $2 million facelift.
Hidden Valley Ski Area will announce a major expansion tomorrow, which will include a 30 percent increase in skiable terrain, a new chair lift, additional snow making equipment and food and beverage upgrades.
Peak Resorts CEO Tim Boyd says the additions will help Hidden Valley build on its growing regional reputation, “We have become much more of a regional destination area for people from the south, Tennessee and Mississippi and Arkansas, and this expansion is going to intensify that even more and of course it’s going to give our existing a lot more excitement.”
Boyd says the new chair lift will be their longest and one of the runs they’ll be adding will be the longest run, “That’s kind of exciting for us because all of these things are something that can enhance the customer experience.”
Boyd says they’ll also be redoing their entire food and beverage operation, “That’s going to give us the ability to try and expand our menu and give our customers some more choices and it gives us a chance to do some more experimentation with what we offer.”
Boyd says the expansion should be completed in time for next winter’s ski season, Hidden Valley’s 30th.
