ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Boxing great Oscar De La Hoya was in the KMOX studio this morning promoting his sport promotional firm, Golden Boy Promotions, and the upcoming fight between St. Louis’ Devon Alexander and Marcos Maidana at the Scottrade Trade Center Saturday.

De La Hoya a 10 time World Champion and an Olympic gold medalist says the match up should be historic. “Its rare that you see two great fighters facing each other these days.”

A match up that De La Hoya can credit to Golden Boy Promotions and his success navigating this second career. “I surrounded myself with good people and we just want to make the best fights happen for the sport,” said De La Hoya.

But since he was in our studio we had to asked De La Hoya what his all time favorite moment is.

“The Olympics. I was on top of that podium listening to the national anthem having that gold metal around my neck. It was just unbelievable, by far that’s my best moment ever.”
