CHICAGO (AP) - Rod Blagojevich is counting his blessings a week before he starts serving a 14-year sentence for corruption.
The ex-governor spoke briefly to Fox News Chicago leaving his house for a jog Tuesday. He appeared subdued as he spoke, stretching as he warmed up in a blue jogging suit.
But the 55-year-old says he’s blessed with “two precious daughters” and “wonderful wife.” He added they’re all “going to get through these real hard times together.”
When a neighbor passed and wished him well, Blagojevich responded without explanation, saying, “It’s going to end up in the right place.”
He’s likely headed to a Colorado prison. He’s been assigned prison number 40892-424.
Imprisoned, he’ll have to jog in a small prison yard encircled by razor wire.
