WELLSTON, MO. (KMOX) - A St Louis man is charged with assaulting a Wellston Police Officer. 20 year old Eric Porter Junior is being held on 20-thousand dollars bond.
Police say they responded to a suspicious auto call this morning in the 6100 block of Minerva. When they arrived they found Porter in the vehicle and requested he exit the vehicle.
Instead, police say, he tried to run them down. One officer fired and struck Porter. He is hospitalized in stable condition.
