It’s Jefferson County — according to numbers supplied online by www.countyhealthrankings.org — which finds 36 percent of Jefferson County residents report a body mass index of greater than thirty — making them obese.

St. Louis City isn’t far behind at 34 percent. Franklin County has a 31 percent obesity rate — while St. Clair, Madison and St. Charles counties come in at 30 percent.

The two slimmest counties — St. Louis and Monroe counties — with an obesity rate of 29 percent.
