ATV Crash Leaves Two Seriously Injured

ST. FRANCOIS CO., Mo. (KMOX) –  Two people were airlifted to a St. Louis County hospital after their ATV crashed Sunday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 21-year-old Matthew Carey of Ironton failed to negotiate a curve while riding his ATV on a private gravel road in the Lake Hannah Development around 7 p.m. Sunday.

The ATV ran off the road and struck a portable toilet, throwing off Carey and his passenger, 23-year-old Cassidy Rhodes of Ironton.

Both were airlifted from the scene to Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur with serious injuries.
