This Sunday is a big day for the popular St. Louis Downtown Airport, the third busiest commercial airport in the State of Illinois, according to the TSA. It is located right across the Poplar Street bridge in Sauget, Illinois.
Ideal Aviation, the newest aircraft services and management company at the airport, is hosting an open house that is free to the public from noon to 4 PM. Ideal is located on the west end of the field. Signs will be posted giving directions to Ideal Aviation.
Attractions for the event will include complimentary barbecue and refreshments, airplane rides, plus civilian aviation and helicopter displays. A fully restored open-cockpit Waco bi-plane from American Warbirds will be available for rides. Tours of the new Ideal Aviation hangars and facilities will also be given.
A St. Louis Children’s Hospital KidsFlight helicopter and crew will also be on display.
