St. Louis Man Sentenced in Heroin Death

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – A St. Louis man was sentenced Friday to nearly 20 years in prison for supplying heroin to a woman in December 2010 that resulted in her death.

The U.S. Attornery’s Office says that 46-year-old Robert Simmons pled guilty in January to one felony count of distribution of heroin, and appeared Friday for sentencing before United States District Judge Carol E. Jackson.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Calhoun County, Illinois Sheriff’s Department.  Assistant United States Attorney Tiffany Becker handled the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
