ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A springtime thunderstorm has residents on both sides of the Mississippi River checking for hail damage on the roofs of their homes and dents in their cars.
The National Weather Service fielded numerous reports of hail falling Saturday afternoon in the St. Louis region.
The largest was 2.5 inches in diameter, measured in Granite City, Illinois.
Florissant, Missouri saw 2.0 inch hail. Dozens of towns had hail diameters of an inch or better.
The National Weather Service posted a tornado warning for northern St. Clair County shortly after 4pm, as a funnel cloud was spotted above O’Fallon.
