ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – A st. Louis man is accused of trying to destroy evidence in connection with a deadly hit and run near Busch Stadium.

The Madison County State’s Attorney charged 29 year-old Eric Peterson with obstruction of justice.

Investigators allege Peterson tried to transfer a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix with the same VIN number as the car that hit and killed Amber Wood outside the Broadway Oyster Bar to a scrap yard in Madison County Illinois.

23 year-old Wood was struck and killed outside the Broadway Oyster Bar on April 27th. Wood died at the scene. A second victim struck had lacerations on his high, leg and face.

Officials said Peterson is not in custody at this time. His bail was set at $35,000.
