Bandit Politely Doffs Hat, Robs St. Charles Bank

Brett Blume

ST. CHARLES (KMOX) –  Maybe he’s trying for a catchy law enforcement moniker, something like the “Polite Bandit”.

St. Charles police say shortly after 11 am Tuesday, a man entered the Pulaski Bank at 1928 Zumbehl Road.

Despite his intentions, the man politely complied when bank personnel asked him to remove his hat.

Hat in hand, the man passed over a note implying he had a weapon, although none was displayed.

The suspect jammed an undetermined amount of cash into a white plastic grocery bag and left.

He was last seen running north from the bank across a parking lot.

He’s described as a black male, bald, approximately 200 lbs. with a muscular build.

He was wearing a light colored, possibly tan baseball cap, a tan or grey Aeropostale sweatshirt, and tan or khaki cargo shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Charles Police Department at (636) 949-3300, or to anonymously call (636) 949-3333.
