GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KMOX) – The driver of the car that ran into a Granite City church’s fellowship hall early Saturday has died —now investigators are trying to determine if he had a medical crisis before the crash.

Bishop John H. Green tells KMOX that the man’s vehicle ran off Edwardsville road, sped across the parking lot and slammed into the side of his building, leaving a gaping hole.

Green says the driver was dead at the scene.

No one was in the Bishop John H. Green Fellowship Hall at the time.

The victim’s identity is not being released yet.
