Police Continue to Search for Gunmen in East St. Louis Shooting

EAST ST LOUIS (KMOX)–East St. Louis police continue their search for the gunmen who opened fire Saturday killing a man who was at a barbecue with neighbors in East St. Louis.

Police say 17 shots were fired at the home. 53-year-old John Haley was hit six to eight times.

It is believed that the shooting was in retaliation to an incident that occurred earlier that night involving both parties. The shooting happened at around 1:15 a.m.

According to the Officers the assailants were driving a white, late-model, Chevy Caprice, and a maroon Pontiac Grand Am.

The shooting came just one day after Tracey Martin the father of Trayvon Martin visited his hometown to speak at a Stop the Violence Rally.
