EAST ST. LOUIS, Il. (KMOX)-A tragic discovery in East St. Louis Friday, as relatives find two children covered in their parents’ blood, after an apparent murder/suicide.

Police Chief Michael Florre tells KMOX the female victim’s father found the bodies in their home in the 600 block of North 23rd St. after having not heard from his daughter or her husband for a few days.  Florre says the killings apparently occurred Wednesday.

Florre says the couple’s one-year-old daughter and two-year-old son were found near the parents’ bodies, “The little girl only had a t-shirt or something on, she didn’t have any underpants on, anything like that and she was covered in blood and different things. The little boy, he was fully dressed, however he was also covered with blood as though they had been laying by their parents.”

The victims were a 20-year-old man and 23-year-old woman.

Florre says the woman’s father told him the couple had been having some martial issues including domestic battery.
