GODFREY, IL. (KMOX) - West Nile Virus has now been found in Madison County Illinois.

A batch of mosquitos collected in Godfrey has tested positive.  Madison County now becomes the fourth Illinois county where the virus was found in the insects.

DuPage, Gallatin and Cook are the other three. In Cook County a bird also tested positive.

So far this year there have been no human cases reported.

Health officials say although West Nile can lead to death, meningitis or encephalitis, four out of five people infected will not show any symptoms.

Those symptoms can include fever, nausea, headache and muscle ache.  People over 50 are at higher risk.
