Mizzou Rallies to Avoid Elimination

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Missouri scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally past New Mexico State in an elimination game in the Tucson Regional.

Trailing 2-1 in the eighth, Conner Mach hit a one-out double and scored the tying run on Dane Opel’s single down the right-field line. Michael McGraw tripled to drive in the go-ahead run, and after a walk to Andreas Plackis, Scott Sommerfield hit a two-run triple to make it 5-2 for Missouri (35-24).

Eric Garcia capped the scoring against the Aggies (33-27) one out later with an RBI single.

Jeff Emens (4-1) pitched three scoreless innings of relief for the win.
