Illinois Gambling Expansion Bill in Trouble
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (IRN) - Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn says he has looked through gambling expansion legislation passed by lawmakers last week and says he doesn’t like what he sees.
Quinn says he has looked at the bill that would create five new casinos and says it is “full of loopholes.” He didn’t elaborate. Asked if he would sign it, Quinn said, “I wouldn’t hold your breath on getting that bill signed.”
The Legislature adopted a similar measure last year but never sent it to Quinn because he said he’d veto it.
