JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO (KMOX) - Fighting crime in Jefferson County is now literally right at your fingertips.
Sheriff Glenn Boyer announced that you can now text or e-mail crime tips directly to his department.
“If an individual is out shopping and they see someone breaking into a car, they can simply text that information and with the resources we have, we can follow up on that” said Sheriff Boyer.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department has established two addresses, one for crime tips and another for tips on illegal drugs:
Sheriff Boyer says there will be no follow-up with anyone who sends an e-mail or text and their information will not be made public.
