ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO (KMOX) - A Fort Zumwalt teacher, already accused of having child pornography, is now under investigation for secretly video taping fifth graders.
38-year old Matt Hansen, a seventh grade math teacher at West Middle School, was found earlier this month in Iowa, after he climbed a cell tower, threatening suicide.
Fort Zumwalt District Superintendent Doctor Bernard DuBray says initially, the investigation did not indicate students were involved. But as cyber investigators were going over all the evidence, video tapes surfaced that did have “images of our fifth grade students at our outdoor education program” That program is held for four days in the Fall at Cuivre River State Park.
DuBray tells KMOX, it does not appear any of the students were abused. However, a letter has gone out to parents of students of Progress South, Lewis and Clark and Dardenne Elementary schools informing them of the situation.
Hansen remains in jail and on administrative leave from the Fort Zumwalt School District.
