Police: Keep Your Car Safe During Fair

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Even though there will be added police patrols in downtown for Fair St. Louis,  police warn car owners to take precautions.

Police suggest using parking facilities that have attendants on duty and are well lit.  Also, put valuables in the trunk prior to reaching the parking lot.

The concern is recent break-ins during downtown events.

There will be several hundred St. Louis Police officers on downtown-detail during the three day event.  Officers will patrol both in uniform and undercover, in marked and unmarked vehicles as well as on foot, scooters and bicycles.

There will be additional Metro train service during Fair St. Louis dates, Wednesday , Friday and Saturday.

The trains will run to 11:30 each of those nights with additional trains running.  Friday night, the trains will run every 12 minutes.

Bus riders are reminded that downtown service will be rerouted  on Wednesday to accommodate the Veiled Prophet Parade.  Extra buses will be put into service each night after the fireworks if needed.
