Stranded Motorist Seeks Help, Gets Shot Instead

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) –  A man whose car had broken down is recovering after potential Good Samaritans started firing at him early Monday morning.

Police say the incident happened in the 1600 block of S. Jefferson near Lafayette Square just after 2 am.

A pickup with two men inside stopped and told the 38-year-old victim they’d help him…if he paid them.

The victim said ‘No’, so one suspect fired three shots toward him, grazing his head and hitting him in the arm.

The victim was hospitalized in stable condition as the search for the suspect continued.
