ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -  Trying to push a police off a roof has a St. Louis man in a lot of trouble.

19-year-old Demetrius Jones was charged with assault, resisting arrest, and tampering with a vehicle after Monday’s incident in the 3400 block of Winnebago.

The officer was chasing Jones on suspicion of stealing an SUV when he followed him onto the roof of a garage.

While climbing up the officer was met at the roof’s edge by Jones, who shoved the officer.

The unidentified officer managed to grab onto a tree to break his fall and the extent of his injuries was not known.
