BELLEVILLE, IL. (KMOX) - A suspect has been arrested in connection with a bomb threat at Southwest Illinois College in Belleville. The campus was evacuated and bomb sniffing dogs were used to search buildings.
It happened on Thursday at SWIC. A note making reference to a bomb was found scribbled on a men’s bathroom wall. When police interviewed the man who reported the note they noticed discrepancies in his story and decided to seek charges.
The St. Clair County Prosecutor has charged 19 year old James Sherrell of Caseyville with Disorderly conduct, class 3 felony. He’s held on $40,000 bond. No bomb was found.
