KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)- Henry Bloch, the co-founder of H&R Block, will leave a lasting gift worth millions of dollars to Kansas City.
Bloch has formed the Marion and Henry Bloch Family Foundation to improve the quality of life in Kansas City. The foundation will ultimately inherit all of the couple’s substantial personal wealth.
The Blochs created the foundation last year but announced it last Monday, at a celebration of his 90th birthday.
He declined to say exactly how much the foundation will receive. But The Kansas City Star reports when it is fully funded, the foundation will be giving away millions of dollars a year.
The money will be used to improve health care, education, social services and art.
