ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOX/AP) — St. Charles County authorities say a growing number of guns are being stolen out of cars and trucks.
KMOV-TV reports that 45 firearms have been reported stolen in the county this year alone. St. Charles city reports 12 incidents with a total of 16 weapons stolen. O’Fallon police say they have had 10 weapons reported stolen this year.
In some cases, the cars were unlocked.
Missouri law allows the carrying of concealed firearms. But people often leave them in their vehicles because many businesses, such as hospitals, don’t allow them to be carried inside.
