Edwardsville School Board Approves Contract

EDWARDSVILLE, IL. (KMOX) – That compromise contract with Edwardsville teachers got school board approval tonight.

Teachers accepted a salary freeze for this year, with a two-percent increase for next year.

“It’s going to place a stress on the district which is the case with all school districts across the state.” said Superintendent Ed Hightower:

He says the district will have more flexibility with class sizes, and the district is capping it’s contribution to the teacher’s pension fund.
