ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – On this Labor Day holiday weekend, St. Patrick Center is celebrating its success in matching up formerly-homeless people with new jobs.
St. Patrick CEO Tom Etling just released their annual employment report.
“We’re proud to report almost five-hundred people in the St. Louis community have worked through our programs and created a long-term, stable job opportunity in the St. Louis area”
That’s more than one job placement per day, no small feat in this economy, according to Etling.
“They’re learning and training in everything from landscape management to food service and hospitality, to waste management, to a lot of administrative positions as well,” Etling said.
Etling says those companies will learn they’ve made a good choice because their new employees will work extra hard to avoid getting back into the situation they were in before.
St. Patrick Center also houses a small business incubator that helped ten start-ups get off the ground in the past year.
